Mums who have suffered from depression?

Hey hon, so sorry to hear you're feeling this way. I think phoning the doctor would be a step in the right direction. PND is an illness and it needs to be treated properly. Have you joined any baby groups or anything that would give you an opportunity to meet other mums and talk to them? Just discussing your problems and knowing that other people are going through the same things really helps. Being a SAHM is many mother's idea of a 'perfect life' but it doesn't always work for everyone. Perhaps getting a part time job in a couple of months when Rosie is a little bit bigger would help as it gives you another focus in your life apart from your kids. I really enjoy my job and much as I don't want to leave Jude when I go back to work in August I am hoping that only working three days a week will give me a good work-life balance. I went in and did a day's supply in my school this week and I loved being there with the kids and my colleagues, it was the longest I'd been away from Jude and although I thought about him I was so busy I couldn't dwell on what he was doing, if he was okay etc. Please don't think you are a terrible mum, you are a great mum who is going through a hard time just now. Admitting that you aren't feeling yourself and things are getting on top of you is the first step to making it better. It will get better but don't be afraid to seek help or change your life a bit to make it happen. Good luck chick, I will be thinking of you xxx
