Do people have same feelings when drunk? confusing guy!?

I have heard that the truth comes out when you are under the influence of alcohol, so I believe it is possible that he is hiding how he feels for some reason. He gets the confidence to allow you to flirt when he drinks. Then again, he could just be being nice because he knows you like him and things just go further when he is drunk.
