Is is tacky to put up a notice at the local supermarket asking if their was someone that wanted to be a walkin?

I am in my late 50's and finding it extremely hard to fine anyone in my neighborhood to meet women my age, I am a straight woman just looking for a walking and chatting partner who lives nearby. I live on the east coast of US and people tend to be cold and not very friendly. There are no groups in the area besides churches and i would feel like a hypocrite even going into a church.
